What kind of renewable energy sources does Sütaş use? What is Sütaş's renewable energy use rate?
We convert the manure from our farms and the organic waste from our factories into renewable energy by processing them in the biogas facilities located in our integrated facilities. We meet 80 percent of our production facilities’ electricity needs with the manure from our farms and the organic waste from our factories. Since the establishment of our biogas plants in 2013, we have prevented greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the amount captured by 38 million trees.
We aim to meet 100 percent of our power needs from our renewable energy facilities by 2025. We have commissioned a 1-MW hybrid SPP at our Eastern-Southeastern Anatolia Dairy Project—Bingöl Integrated Facilities. We have initiated efforts to install solar power plants on the rooftops of our farms and factories within our facilities in Tire, Aksaray, and Bingöl. By increasing our investment target of 10 MW to 25 MW in SPPs, we aim to meet 50 percent of our heating needs with renewable energy.
